KTG AG Lugano, Switzerland, is a Lugano based company duly incorporated under the laws of Switzerland. The company is a special purpose vehicle established to develop through its 65% share in the Project company the gas-fired combined heat and power plant in Zenica, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Purpose of the Project
The purpose of KTG Zenica is to provide the Municipality of Zenica with reliable, long-term sufficient source of thermal power for the district heating and to generateelectrical power for feed-in into the BiH grid and for the export to neighbouring countries.
In March 2009, the Municipality of Zenica and KTG signed a Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU")establishing the general terms of mutual cooperation for the implementation of the Project. In August 2009, KTG and the Municipality of Zenica incorporated the local Project Company KTG Zenica d.o.o.
In October 2013, after KTG Zenica`s successful EPC negotiations and signing with the Chinese Company SEPCOIII, HTG, a Chinese company based in Hong Kong purchased 10% of KTG shares effectively become a shareholder.
The new Shareholder brakedown of the Project Cpmpany therefore is the following:
65%: KTG AG, Lugano, Switzerland
25%: Municipality of Zenica, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina
10%: HTG, Hong Kong, China
The Project will be one of the largest investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the postwar period and will improve the quality of life in Zenica and the region alike. The Project will also bring new jobs and recruit companies from the field of manufacturing and services. In addition, the plant will, in the heating season, replace the current consumption of about 700 tons of coal per day thereby significantly contributing to pollution reduction.
