GENERAL ELECTRIC INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING IN ZENICA GAS POER PLANT PROJECT
Representatives of US company General Electric expressed strong interest in participating in the project for the construction of a gas-fired thermoelectric power plant near Zenica. General Electric representatives underlined that the project is entirely suitable for installing the modern technologies, which General Electric develops.
The new power plant will be situated on 20,000 sqm with total capacity of 250 MW, as compared to 170 MW required for heating of the city. Total project costs are estimated to amount to EUR 250 mn (KM 489mn). The construction works of the new plant are expected to be completed in 2 years after all the necessary permits are obtained. The power plant will be operated by a joint venture, with KTG having a 75% stake and the municipality of Zenica – 25%.
